warsaw pubs: best craft beer bars in warsaw pub crawl
Welcome to the Drink in the Sights Guide to the Best Bars and Pubs in Warsaw. The Polish capital offers cheap drinks, stunning bars, and a huge variety of excellent beers covering every possible style. The Old Town is gorgeous, while the New Town is sprawling and full of life. This is a city that following on from the two world wars has almost literally risen from the ashes. As with most European cities these days the bar staff all speak English so you won't struggle ordering your piwo (beer) and as you're about to find out there's more than enough to choose from. Right lets get on with this guide to the best bars in Warsaw.

Warsaw Pubs
From the outside there's little evidence that Piwpaw is a bar let alone one of the very best pubs in Warsaw, but once you're inside there's absolutely no doubt. In many ways the numbers speak for themselves, as with 79 beers on tap and a good array of bottles you won't find many bars anywhere with as good as a selection. There's no wonder this place is always busy as the selection is second to none, the staff are excellent, and the interior is just fantastic, oh and for those who wish to partake, they also do karaoke nights downstairs.

I did not partake. You'll find a proper long wooden bar, comfy seats and the ceilings and walls are absolutely covered in bottle tops, and I mean really covered. I don't know who glued them all on but it must have taken days if not weeks. It's worth it though as they look great. Everything you could possibly want from a pub is in Piwpaw so there's nowhere better to start a Warsaw pub crawl. It's fair to say it's called Beer Heaven for a reason.

You'll find Same Krafty right in the center of the wonderful Warsaw Old Town, and it really is worth finding. There's 10 beers on tap along with loads of cans and bottles to keep you going. The bar staff know everything there is to know about the beers, there's bare brick walls, and a dragon head hanging from the ceiling. What more could you want? Well there's more... For a start there's a snug area, which is always a nice find, and the walls are lined with vinyl size beer pins for your viewing pleasure. There's just a proper, laid back pub vibe going on in Same Krafty which is really nice to find in the Old Town. Certainly one of the best bars in Warsaw.
|
Right across the road from Same Krafty you'll find Vis-A-Vis. It's an interesting idea to open up two pubs within a pretty weak stones throw of each other, but it seems to work as both keep nice and busy. Like its sister pub Vis-A-Vis has 10 beers on tap and an array of bottles, but sadly there's no dragon here. What there is though is the same excellent quality staff, a board of old currency, and thanks to the tunnel to the bar an almost cellar bar feel, and I do love a cellar bar. The beers are all top notch and served by proper beer geeks so you really can't visit one Same Krafty pub without visiting the other. They're both great options for craft beer in Warsaw.

I just love the name Jabeerwocky, I mean I love the place too, but the names just great. This is one of those proper industrial looking pubs that's just all about the beer with the added bonus of comfy leather sofas. Lets talk about the beer though as Jabeerwocky boasts a range of 17 on tap many of which are lovingly brewed on site, and they are excellent, so it's best to try as many as you can. The décor is really sleek, and really cool with a long metal bar, bare brick walls, and nice beer related information on the walls. The staff know their stuff and are happy to help. I really enjoyed Jabeerwocky, and I'm sure you will too. One of the top Warsaw pubs.

Kufle I Kapsle Nowogrodzka
I was delighted, and a little surprised to find Kufle I Kapsle still open as their Facebook page seemed to be saying it was still closed and having read so many great reviews I really didn't want to miss it off this list of the best bars in Warsaw. Fortunately we stumbled into this excellent pub while on our way to Jabeerwocky which is just across the road, it turns out they've moved and I was looking at an old Facebook page, whoops. If you like bare brick walls as much as I do you're going to love this place as they're everywhere.

You'll find 20 craft beers on tap in this proper back to basics beer geeks heaven loving served by excellent bar staff who are more than happy to help you choose. This is always a busy, lively place with a bit of a buzz so make sure you there early enough to grab a seat and I have to say of all the Warsaw pubs on this list I think Kufle I Kapsle had the best music selection so just sit back and enjoy the atmosphere.
If you're looking for a huge array of craft beer in Warsaw look no further than Brewski, one of the newer Warsaw bars on this list. There's a jaw dropping 67 beers on tap in this beer drinkers paradise, and I think we can agree that's enough to keep anyone going. This is very much one of those places where you just know all the staff love beer just as much as the customers do, and that's how it should be. There's a mixture of bare brick and wooden walls giving a proper pub feel despite the cool modern design. Just as a side note they always have Kronenbourg Blanc on which I think is just about the pinnacle of wheat beers so if you're struggling to choose from the huge list that's always a good option.

Hopito is right next to Brewski and specialises in just two things, craft beer, and pizza, and I'm a fan of both. You'll find 18 craft beers on tap along with a fridge absolutely rammed full of bottles and cans. You'll find plenty of cool cartoon artwork on the walls along with things like skateboards which give the place quite a young persons feel, but don't worry I'm 40 and my fellow beer lovers are both older than me and we still felt very welcome so don't worry about the student vibe, you'll be ok if like us you just love drinking beers in great Warsaw pubs.

If you're craft beer hunting with a celiac keep an eye out for Maryensztadt beers as at least four of them are gluten free and one is that rarest of things a gluten free stout. This place certainly isn't just for the gluten intolerant/celiac amongst you though as there's 16 beers on tap mixing their own excellent brews with other local classics. Maryensztadt is quite a big place but still has a good feel to it and I'm told they do the best hot dogs in town, and that's quite a claim in a city that just loves a hot dog. A must on any Warsaw pub crawl.

If like me you love a proper old style micro pub then this is absolutely the place for you. Sure it doesn't have the vast beer selection of some of the Warsaw pubs on this list but really isn't a choice of 5 beers enough for most people? This really is a proper little pub with beer pins, bottle tops, and bottle openers decorating the walls around the tiny bar area. The lady behind the bar was great, the feel of the place is just like been in a local boozer at home, and the beer was clearly well kept. Sometimes good things really do come in small packages. One of the very best pubs in Warsaw, and probably the most pubby pub, for want of a better way of putting it.

Warsaw Bars
They really do like their bare brick walls in Warsaw and Hoppiness is no exception to the rule. They also love places with a good array of beers, and again Hoppiness fits the bill nicely with 12 local craft beers just waiting to be poured. This is quite a small, cosy place serving great beers and great burgers, and I mean really great burgers. While it's a nice place to call into for a beer you'll find lots of people tucking into the well priced food here too so why not treat yourself? It's a really nice bar, with quality staff, great beer, and great food, what more could you want?
|
A proper pub serving proper beers is probably the best way to sum up this great little craft beer pub in Warsaw. You'll find 9 beers and a lucky cat behind the well manned wooden bar along with some pretty cool artwork of musicians on the walls. There's live sport on the TV, which only adds to the proper pub feel, and just a really nice, local, welcoming atmosphere. This belongs on any list of the best bars in Warsaw.

Beer Station quickly became our local one more before hitting the sack stop due to its proximity to our hotel and it's great array of 12 beers. It's also a cellar bar, and anyone who's read a few of these will know there's nothing I love more than a bare brick covered cellar bar with a good selection of local craft beers. Certainly one of the best Warsaw bars.

Muranow Craft Beer is a little out the way but well worth the trip especially if you're visiting the Museum of the History of Polish Jews just around the corner. I guess because it's a little off the beaten track it has a proper locals pub feel to it, which is something I very much appreciate. You'll find a small outdoor area and two floors worth of comfy sofas inside, plus there's the small matter of the 16 local beers waiting for you on tap. It's a proper local beer drinkers pub, with lots to offer so go on walk the extra few hundred yards to pay it a visit. A worthy addition to any list of the best Warsaw pubs.
|
As the name implies you won't be lacking choice in The Taps with 15 craft beers available in this three storey, bare brick covered Warsaw pub. There's a cool industrial look, live music nights, and excellent bar staff serving a mix of local and more far flung beers from around Europe. No craft beer in Warsaw pub crawl would be complete without a visit to The Taps.
|
Thanks to the almost completely glass exterior there's no better place to sit in Warsaw on a sunny day than Pinta, not that it has to be sunny to enjoy a pint here, it's just a nice bonus if it is. You'll find 20 mainly Pinta beers on tap (the wheat beer was amazing) or in bottles to take away which is more than enough to keep even the thirstiest soul happy. The barman clearly knew his stuff and was more than happy to talk about the beers available. A great pub in the center of Warsaw.

There's no better place to end a Warsaw pub crawl than Drugie Dno. There's three bare brick covered floors in this proper back to basics industrial looking Warsaw bar. You'll find 12 beers on tap ready to be perfectly poured by the attentive staff and just a really nice welcoming feel. I can't think of anywhere better to end this guide to the best bars in Warsaw.
