I found this 440ml can of Trinitario from Brass Castle in the excellent Doncaster Brewery Tap which is one of the absolute best Doncaster pubs. The brewery is based in a small town called Malton just north of York where they've been brewing since 2014. I have to say I love their Bad Kitty beer so I really had high hopes for Trinitario. Like Bad Kitty this is a gluten free beer as most (but not all) Brass Castle offerings are. Trinitario is a 5% chocolate stout and just so you know it's named after cacao beans which again gives a glue as to what the beer is all about.
Trinitario pours pretty much completely black with a small tan lacing head. You can smell the chocolate from the other side of the room it's that strong so if there is anything else in the aroma you can fully expect it to be drowned out. The beer is smooth and full bodied as a good stout should be and the taste is exactly as expected, it's like someone has melted a chocolate cake and added a bit of alcohol. If you don't like chocolate beers you won't enjoy this at all but I love them and this is one of the very best so I'm going to give Trinitario from Brass Castle 10 out of 10. Great beer.
