I found New Bristol Brewery The Boogie Below in The Cardinals Hat which is one of the top pubs in Lincoln UK. As the name implies they are indeed a pretty new brewery, and they're based in Bristol. I've already reviewed their Cinder Toffee Stout, and it was fantastic so I was always going to give them another go. Lets just hope this one is as good. New Bristol Brewery The Boogie Below is a 5% Milkshake IPA. I've had some great milkshake beers in the past, so it's certainly a style I usually enjoy. The beer pours a very hazy yellow with white lacing making up the rather feeble head.
New Bristol Brewery The Boogie Below has a tropical fruits aroma with mango, and I think passion fruit coming through strongest. The texture is thick by IPA standards, but then this is a milkshake one so that's fair enough. The taste pretty much matches the smell with lots of pineapple and citrus. To be honest I didn't like it, but I think other people with a different palate would. I'm not a big fan of pineapple juice, and basically this tasted like thick pineapple juice. It's difficult to rate New Bristol Brewery The Boogie Below because I get the impression I know a lot of people who would like it, it's just not for me. 4 out of 10.
