Neon Raptor Millscherrn Review

14/11/2021

Appropriately enough I drank Neon Raptor's Millscherrn at their excellent tap room in Nottingham. It's one of my favourite Nottingham bars right next to the brewing equipment. They're a very modern brewery who are making a name for themselves with some very strong, and at times very tasty beers. Neon Raptor Millscherrn is a bit of a move away from the higher percentages though as this clocks in at a much more manageable 4.5% alcohol. That doesn't mean it's an ordinary beer though, it's a milkshake pale ale, and while they are becoming easier to find they're still a bit of a rarity.
Neon Raptor Millscherrn
Neon Raptor's Millscherrn pours a seriously hazy peach colour with at best a minimal head. It looks really thick. There's a strong tropical fruit aroma with pineapple coming through particularly strongly. As expected the texture is verging on actually been a milkshake it's so thick, but that's expected for the beer type. I actually quite enjoyed the taste. There's a good pineapple dominated fruit taste with a nice hit of cream to make it just that little bit sweeter than most beers. Neon Raptor's Millscherrn is a little bit different, a bit of fun, and while not a beer style that I'd usually choose it's still pretty tasty. 7.5 out of 10.
