Welcome to the Drink in the Sights Memphis BVLD from ALDI Beer Review. Over recent months ALDI have decided to remake a bunch of famous beers under a different name, following on from Anti Establishment IPA which was clearly Punk IPA from Brewdog they moved on to Titanic's iconic Plum Porter, and now it's back to Brewdog with Memphis BVLD from ALDI which is clearly meant to mimic Elvis Juice. Anyway the beer comes in a red and white 440ml can and clocks in at 6.5% way above the 5.1% offered by the Brewdog beer. It has to be said the percentage alone makes this pretty good value for money. Memphis BVLD from ALDI pours a light amber gold with a foamy white head.
Not surprisingly for a grapefruit infused beer you'll get plenty of grapefruit and citrus notes from the Memphis BVLD from ALDI aroma along with a light, easy to drink body. The taste, not surprisingly, is similar to Elvis Juice from Brewdog with plenty of grapefruit backed up by general citrus flavours. How do you rate a beer that's trying to be another beer? With difficulty I guess. Well I gave Elvis Juice 6 out of 10, given that this tastes basically the same, but has more alcohol I'm willing to give Memphis Blvd a slightly improved 6.5 out of 10.
