I picked up this 330ml can of London Lager from Meantime Brewery at Home Bargains in Lincoln for not a lot of money and cracked it open at my annual barbecue. It shouldn't surprise you that Meantime Brewery is based in Greenwich in London so this really isn't a local beer for me. London Lager has a very average 4.5% alcohol making it a decent starter drink, and pours about as yellow as a beer could possibly pour. The head starts off reasonably well but doesn't last sadly. As you'd expect from a lager the aroma wont exactly knock you over but there's a few decent floral and citrus notes.
The beers texture is also pretty much what you'd expect. It's light, it's fairly refreshing, and it'll do the job you'd like a lager to do. To be fair to London Lager it actually tastes reasonably nice as lagers go. You'll get quite a zesty lemon citrus taste which is certainly more than you'd get from your average 12 pack of lager. All in all London Lager from Meantime Brewery isn't going to rock your world, but what lager would? What it will do is keep you refreshed on a summers day and provide you with a nice little citrus hit. 7 out of 10.
