Having not particularly enjoyed Cinnamon Swirl from Cornish brewers Goodh Brewing Co I wanted to give them one more try and as I'm a big fan of oatmeal stouts Knockout seemed like their best opportunity to win me back. At 7% Knockout from Goodh Brewing Co could well do some damage but lets see if it's likely to leave you on the canvas. The beer comes in quite a cool comic book style 440ml can and pours jet black with a pretty pathetic head. Knockout smells quite heavily of coffee and alcohol which feels ironic as surely coffee is all about waking you up not knocking you out.
Knockout from Goodh Brewing Co has a proper thick full bodied texture as a good oatmeal stout should while the taste very much matches the smell. There's clearly plenty of coffee malts in here but in all honesty there's not much else going on. If you like a coffee stout Knockout from Goodh Brewing Co will just about see you through your night, but it's unlikely to have you dashing out for more. 5.5 out of 10.
