Welcome to the Drink in the Sights Irish Stout from Tindall Brewery Beer Review. This is another offering from my birthday beer drinking session in Beerheadz. I think this is my first Tindall Brewery review so I should quickly note that they're a Norfolk based brewery who have been quietly brewing away since 1998, which is to my mind the year music died. The first thing to say about Irish Stout from Tindall Brewery is that it looks great, but don't all Irish Stouts look great? It's got that proper jet black body with just off white creamy head that just screams proper stout. The beer clocks in at 4.5% which is a little higher than Guinness Draught which I guess is what all Irish Stouts are automatically compared to.
Irish Stout from Tindall Brewery has a fairly strong coffee and chocolate aroma, with the coffee coming through strongest. The texture is predictably thick and creamy, which I like, but the taste is very heavy on the coffee beans. I think there's a little bit of creamy lactose in there too, but really this is a coffee stout, and not a bad one if I'm honest. It has to be said I'm not a coffee drinker, in fact coffee beers and Tiramisu are about as close as I get to drinking the real stuff, but this was pleasant enough even for my pallet. I'm going to give Irish Stout from Tindall Brewery a very respectable 7 out of 10.
