Welcome to the Drink in the Sights Internal Monologue from Newtown Park Beer Review. Breweries don't come much newer than Newtown Park Brewery in Bristol who only formed in 2020 and opened a taproom in 2021. There seem to be a lot of breweries in Bristol now so I may have to arrange another trip. I picked up Internal Monologue from Newtown Park during my birthday drinking session in Beerheadz, Lincoln. The beer contains 5.4% alcohol and pours a very dark purple with a very thin white lacing head. Oddly Internal Monologue from Newtown Park has pretty much no discernable aroma at all, but if you really try you might just get a hint of roasted coffee beans.
Internal Monologue from Newtown Park has a just above medium texture, which is a little light for a really full on stout, but just about passable. It's difficult to say that Internal Monologue tastes good, or bad as in all honesty it just tastes bland. There's some small coffee notes, maybe a hint of plum, and not much else at all. I guess it's best described as an easy drinking pallet cleanser of a stout, what is for sure though is that if you're feeling a little sleepy this wont wake you up. It's not a good beer, it's not a bad beer, it's just a boring 5 out of 10 beer.
