To give the beer it's full name I'd have to write I Don't Wanna Wheat (For Our Lives to Be Over) from Alphabet Brewing Company so can we just call it I Don't Want To Wheat to save me from RSI? Yes. Thanks. Alphabet Brewing are a Manchester based brewery who enjoy nothing more than making hoppy fruity beers, which is probably why I've avoided them so far. However while I may not be a huge fan of the hoppy fruits I am a big fan of a good wheat beer, so fingers crossed here. The beer clocks in at 4.5% which is very middly and comes in a 330ml can.
While I Don't Wanna Wheat has a nice golden wheat beer body the white head doesn't really live up to expectations, or maybe I didn't pour it right. The aroma not surprisingly features plenty of wheat, quite a few light hops aromas and some coriander, so it certainly smells about right. The texture is light as you'd expect and the taste is pleasant enough. There's some orange in there, some coriander, and a nice enough wheaty freshness. I Don't Wanna Wheat is a pretty standard wheat beer that probably wont let you down but also wont have you rushing back for more. I'm going to give I Don't Wanna Wheat from Alphabet Brewing 6.5 out of 10.
