I got this pint of Heidi Weiss from West Brewery at the brewery tap in Glasgow. It really is one of the top Glasgow bars and it's always nice to have something brewed on site. The brewery brew all their beers to the German purity laws and they are the UK's first employee owned brewery, so there really is a lot to like about them. Heidi Weiss from West Brewery is a 5.2% wheat beer, and if there's anything the German's know how to do, other than take penalties, it's wheat beers, so I'm expecting something good here. The beer pours exactly how a wheat beer should, just off yellow, and very cloudy with a decent white head.
Heidi Weiss from West Brewery has quite a strong banana aroma, fortunately I like bananas so that was promising. As you'd expect the feel is nice and light, while the taste matches the aroma quite nicely. You'll get all the usual wheaty goodness with a nice dollop of banana on top which just makes Heidi Weiss from West Brewery an interesting beer. I really enjoyed it, but then I really enjoy most wheat beers. 8 out of 10.
