Fourpure Oatmeal Stout is the last of the LIDL beer festival for October 2021 I have to review, and as a dark beer fan I'm very much hoping I've saved the best for last. The brewery were founded in 2013 in London and at the last beer festival they released Last Train Oatmeal Stout, which was a bit dull so I'm hoping this isn't just the same beer rebranded. Fourpure Oatmeal Stout comes in a 330ml silver can and contains 5.1% alcohol. The beer pours black with no head, so it's another dark beer that looks a bit like a cola.
Fourpure Oatmeal Stout has a fairly strong roasted malts and coffee bean aroma. The body texture is a little lighter than expected but still reasonably full bodied. Meanwhile the taste very much follows the aroma with coffee dominating but not so much it put me, as a none coffee drinker, off. You'll also get a few chocolate notes. Fourpure Oatmeal Stout doesn't do anything new, but it's a decent enough coffee stout so it deserves a good 7.5 out of 10.
