This is my second review from Campervan Brewery, and the second from a tasting session I did at Lost in Leith which is their brewery bar. The brewery are based in Leith, which is the port area of Edinburgh, and they're pretty new to the scene having only arrived in 2017. Campervan Brewery Leith Porter pours jet black with a thin lacing head, so it pretty much looks the part as a porter. The beer contains a fairly indistinct 5% alcohol, and the aroma isn't one that's overly unique either with some nice coffee and chocolate notes coming through.
Campervan Brewery Leith Porter is reasonably full bodied and smooth. While like the aroma the taste of coffee and chocolate is far from a new creation in a porter it does have a certain finesse about it some beers lack. The coffee and chocolate notes are both really well balanced making Campervan Brewery Leith Porter a really pleasant beer. Sure it's nothing new, but it is very good. 8 out of 10.
