I had this pint of Buxton blonde from Buxton Brewery at the Brewery Taphouse so it couldn't have been a more local beer. I should add that the Brewery Tap is certainly one of the best pubs in Buxton and although it's a little out of the town centre it's really worth a visit. There's just something nice about drinking a beer while looking out over the brewing equipment. Buxton Blonde is a 4.6% blonde ale that pours with virtually no head. The aroma is pretty fruity with a little bit of citrus and pine coming through too.
As you'd expect from the looks Buxton Blonde is a nice refreshing beer with a light to medium texture making it a decent option on a warm day. The taste very much matches the aroma with plenty of fruity goodness and a little bit of citrus coming through. Thankfully the citrus notes very much take a backseat and just offer a bit of depth to the beer rather than taking it over. I have to say I quite enjoyed Buxton Blonde. It doesn't do anything particularly new and exciting but as mildly fruity light beers go this is certainly one of the best around at the moment. I'm going to give Buxton Blonde a pretty impressive 8.5 out of 10.
