loughborough pubs: the best craft beer bars in loughborough
Welcome to the Drink in the Sights guide to the best bars in Loughborough. Your guide to the perfect Loughborough Craft Beer and Real Ales pub crawl. Situated between Leicester and Nottingham Loughborough is a fairly easy place to get to by train, and I can assure you it's well worth the trip. You'll want to keep an eye out for local brewery Charnwood who brew some excellent stuff including Salvation which at 3.8% is a good choice on a session. This is also still very much Everards territory so you'll never be too far away from a pint of Tiger. All the excellent Loughborough pubs on this list are within easy walking distance of the train station, so lets get on with this guide to the best pubs in Loughborough.

Loughborough Pubs
I just love the Needle & Pin. It's everything a proper micro pub should be and so much more. I mean it just looks spectacular with its bare brick walls and back to basics feel. There's board games upstairs, and the staff are proper beer geeks who I'm pretty sure have tasted every beer they sell, and are more than happy to talk about them, and offer advice. There's 8 beers on tap, usually featuring some hefty percentages, and one of the best bottle and can selections you'll ever see. It's not the biggest selection, but they've clearly been carefully chosen, and feature some seriously rare stuff. This belongs on every guide to the best pubs in Loughborough and a great place for craft beers in Loughborough.

I really like a good brewery tap, and Moonface is an excellent one. You'll find 5 of their own wonderful beers on tap including their London Porter. This is just what a Brewery Tap should be back to basics with a wooden bar and brewing equipment proudly on show. As you'd expect in a place like this the staff are proper beer drinking people, who are happy to advise you on their beers, and similarly the customers are all there for the beer. I do try to drink local when I do these trips, and you really can't drink more local than this. One of the best bars in Loughborough.

Anyone who has read my Nottingham or Newark pubs guide will know I have a thing for Blue Monkey pubs and their beers. If you ever see their Chocolate Orange Stout don't hesitate to buy it, it's honestly wonderful. You'll find 8 Blue Monkey beers on tap, plus a fridge full of their bottles in this beer drinkers paradise. There's excellent staff, wooden floorboards, and even a bare brick open fireplace, while the leather seats are among the comfiest you'll find. This really is a proper pub, serving proper beer, done brilliantly. An absolute must on a Loughborough pubs crawl and a great place for real ales in Loughborough.

Blink and you might miss this tiny little gem of a pub that brilliantly intertwines quality beers and rock and roll. This is a seriously cool, laid back place with staff who love their beers and their music, if it's quiet they'll even take music requests. The walls are covered in rock memorabilia while even the beer pins are in the shape of records. You'll find 7 local beers on tap, which is more than enough to keep most people going in what genuinely is one of my favourite little pubs. It's kind of exactly what Hard Rock Café bars would be if they weren't rubbish. Naturally there's live music and a great atmosphere in this great Loughborough craft beer bar. Rock The Cask Bar.

I did say right at the start that Loughborough is Everard's territory, and sure enough we have an Everard's pub. Three Nuns is a gorgeous bar with 5, predominantly Everard's, beers on tap and top staff serving them. You'll find a mixture of carpets and wooden floorboards along with open fireplaces, wood beam ceilings, and proper wooden doors making for a really nice, traditional look. You'll find live music at the weekend, and a pub that's always busy, and always has a bit of a buzz. I actually arrived not long after 12 on a Friday last time I visited and the place was already pretty lively. One of the very best Loughborough pubs.

As an Everton fan I very much enjoyed the White Hart paint job, but I enjoyed the wonderful interior much more. This is a proper traditional pub with 6 beers on tap usually including a couple from Charnwood Brewery. You'll find wooden floorboards, a very nice wooden bar, a fireplace, and one of the biggest and best beer gardens in Loughborough. There's live music and open mic nights along with an extensive food menu. As with most places in Loughborough the staff were very nice, and the atmosphere was spot on. One of the best pubs in Loughborough.

With 10 beers on tap, and a bit of a focus on gluten free offerings The Wheeltapper is a must on any guide to the best bars in Loughborough. The friendly staff know their stuff, the sofas are seriously comfy, there's wooden floorboards, and beer pins on the wall. There's something about beer pins on a wall that just says proper pub to me. There's a sleek, modern look to the place, but it still has that proper pub charm. One of the top Loughborough bars.

Where better to end a Loughborough pub crawl than a Castle Rock Bar. Anyone whos read my guide to Nottingham pubs will know I love Castle Rock Brewery, and their bars. This one is a bit of a beauty going across two rooms featuring wonderful pub trappings like wooden floorboards and open fireplaces. There's 8 beers on tap as well as a pretty impressive bottle selection in the fridge. Few breweries do traditional pubs better than Castle Rock so The Swan in the Rushes belongs on any guide to Loughborough pubs.
Thanks for reading my guide to the best pubs in Loughborough. I hope you enjoy your Loughborough pub crawl and all the great craft beers in Loughborough.
