bucharest bars: the best crfat beer pubs in bucharest
Welcome to the Drink in the Sights Guide to the best bars in Bucharest, everything you need to find craft beer in Bucharest. Contrary to popular belief blood is not the staple drink of the lovely people of Bucharest, in fact when I visited I didn't bump into a single vampire, and that's despite heading into Transylvania to visit Bran Castle, also known as Dracula's Castle. The locals were much more interested in drinking some of the excellent local craft beers from breweries like Ground Zero Beer, Wicked Barrel, and Fabrica De Bere Buna than my, or anyone else's blood. So now we've got all the Dracula worries out the way lets begin this guide to the best pubs in Bucharest.

Zeppelin Pub
A rock bar with over 130 different beers available. The Zeppelin Pub was always going to be high on my list of the best bars in Bucharest even though it looks more like an upmarket hotel bar than a rock bar. The walls are all white, and feature pictures of The Zeppelin, there's wooden floorboards, large windows, and yet there's rock music playing throughout. It's a little bit surreal, and certainly a unique experience. You'll find a small wooden bar behind which are the promised 130 odd beers and English speaking, proper beer geek staff who will help you pick the beer that's right for you. One of the truly excellent Bucharest pubs.

Zaganu Romanian Craft Beer
Also known as Fabrica De Bere. Zaganu have been brewing in Romania since 2013 so it was no doubt a relief for everyone when they opened their own bar. With 11 Romanian beers on tap, including several of their own, along with around 20 bottles this is the ideal location to sample some of the very best beers Romania has to offer. The staff are excellent, know their beer, and are more than happy to talk about them. The beer bottle chandeliers are a really nice touch in this surprisingly spacious beer paradise. Not surprisingly as a dark beer lover I went for the Zaganu Bruna, and it was excellent. One of the best pubs in Bucharest, and a great place for craft beer in Bucharest.

La 100 De Beri
If you're looking for a ridiculous amount of beer in a location with a proper pub feel look no further than La 100 De Beri. These guys absolutely love beer, and they love talking about beer, which is probably why they have such a huge selection. You'll find 20 craft beers on tap and fridge after fridge stocked full of the best beers they can get their hands on from around the world. It really is an exceptional selection in a proper pub with bar stalls, a wooden bar, and beer memorabilia everywhere. Honestly this is one of those Bucharest pubs that could just as easily be an old English boozer, only with much cheaper beer. One of the best bars in Bucharest.

Bere Si Bere Pub
If you like Romanian beer you'll love Bere Si Bere Pub, that said if you like Belgium, American, German, British, or pretty much any beer you'll love Bere Si Bere Pub. There's 14 beers ready to pour on tap plus an array of bottles so big I decided not to even start counting, plus the staff are some of the nicest, most helpful people you'll ever meet. The building is a homage to rock music with vinyl records and guitars on the lime green walls. One of the top Bucharest pubs.

It must be Beer O'clock by now is pretty much what I think to myself at least twice a day, and three times when I'm at work, and now here it is, finally Beer O'Clock. There's not only 10, mainly Romanian, beers on tap here, but there's also a huge selection of well over 200 bottles the excellent bar staff will happily help you select from. You really will find every imaginable beer style from every corner of the globe here, so make sure you put this excellent bar on your Bucharest craft beer pub crawl.

Oktoberfest Pub
A little taste of Germany in Bucharest. If you like German beer halls Oktoberfest Pub is the place for you. Their own brewed Oktoberfest Beer is pretty much spot on, there's an impressive selection of bottles from around the world along with a total of 10 on tap, and the prices are surprisingly cheap for somewhere this popular. Oktoberfest Pub is a proper lively venue that always has a bit of a buzz about it, but the bar staff manage to keep the beers flowing admirably. It just goes to show you don't need to go to Munich or Berlin to have fun in a German beer hall. One of the best bars in Bucharest.

Hop Hooligans Taproom
I love a brewery tap room so I was always going fall in love with Hop Hooligans. With 22 beers on tap, including several from the Hooligans themselves and dozens in cans and bottles you won't go thirsty here. I have to say their Cannon Fire Porter was excellent, so give that a go if you like a good dark beer. This really is a proper craft beer haven which lets the sheer volume and quality of the beers do the talking. The pub is sleek and modern with cool neon lights and minimalism coupled with old pub favourites like wooden floorboards and fireplaces, making for a wonderfully chilled environment to enjoy the beer, or 6 of your choice. When it comes to craft beer and knowledgeable staff you wont find many better Bucharest bars.

Berestroika Beer Revolution
With four own brewed beers on tap I was always going to want to check out Berestroika and join the Beer Revolution. Naturally I went for the dark one, it was great, but my light drinking friends enjoyed theirs too. Along with the 4 on tap there's a few bottles to choose from in this seriously large Bucharest bar. There's a nice outdoor area while the spacious interior has nice wooden floor boards and brewing equipment on show, and you know I love seeing where the magic happens. One of the very best bars in Bucharest.

Beer Station
With 10 beers on tap and dozens in bottles Beer Station belongs on any list of the best pubs in Bucharest. It's also a super cool back to basics place with unassuming lighting, bare brick walls, comfy leather sofas, and proper beer people selling some excellent Romanian beers. Don't worry though if you can't find anything local that takes your fancy they have cans and bottles from around the world, including a fair few from England, just in case you're feeling home sick. There's no pretention that this is anything other than a place to sit down with a couple of mates and a couple of beers, and I like that. I couldn't think of anywhere better to end this guide to Bucharest pubs.
